As gay Christians, we are often in the minority -- both in the Christian community and in the gay community. It's easy to feel overwhelmed, especially when we seem surrounded by opposition.
For many of us, the battle is both internal and external. We struggle on multiple fronts in an effort to live holy lives, yet we get very little support from others. On top of it all, each of us has his or her own private pains and struggles.
This week, if you feel tired or alone in your situation, whatever it may be, spend some time praying and meditating on these words from David. See what God has to say to you in the midst of your struggles.
Psalm 13:1-6 (NIV)
How long, O Lord? Will you forget me forever?
How long will you hide your face from me?
How long must I wrestle with my thoughts
and every day have sorrow in my heart?
How long will my enemy triumph over me?
Look on me and answer, O Lord my God.
Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death;
my enemy will say, "I have overcome him,"
and my foes will rejoice when I fall.
But I trust in your unfailing love;
my heart rejoices in your salvation.
I will sing to the Lord,
for he has been good to me.
