2008 is a big year for GCN. This is our 7th full year of operation!

In the Bible, the seventh year was a year of rest and renewal for God's people and for the land. For our seventh year, we want to take some time for reflection and renewal, to remember where we've been and how far God has brought us, and to refresh our focus on who we are and where we're going.

Throughout the year, you'll see and hear things at GCN centering on the theme of renewal. As time goes on, we'll update this page with the latest in our "Call to Renewal."

For now, here are some things to expect:

A renewal of our faith. All of us, from the top leaders to the individuals who surf our website, are encouraged to spend time refocusing on Christ and allowing God to re-energize us. Make a commitment this year to spend more time in Scripture, prayer, and meditation. Even our website will be undergoing mini-makeovers throughout the year to ensure a consistent Christian focus throughout, along with new resources and ideas for renewing your faith.

A renewal of our mission. In April of this year, we announced a brand new 5-point mission that arose out of a time of deep reflection and prayer. Throughout the rest of the year, more of our website and materials will be updated to reflect the new mission statement, and we'll be announcing new projects to coincide with the five core components.

A renewal of our framework. GCN began as one man's personal mission and has expanded to include thousands of people around the world. But to keep up with that explosive growth, we need to build the staff and structure to better serve them all. This means being bolder in asking for financial support, more transparent about our needs, and more intentional about putting together the internal workings of an organization that can continue to grow for many years to come.

Here are several things you can do to be part of this renewal effort.

1. Be in prayer for GCN. Pray for wisdom for our leadership, unity for our community, and effectiveness of the ministry.

2. Encourage one another, including our staff and volunteers. A few words can mean a lot to anyone, including those who work overtime to keep this ministry running.

3. Consider tithing to GCN. Many Christians tithe (give 10% of their income) to a church or ministry of their choice. It would only take 10 people tithing to GCN to pay one new staff member's salary, something we desperately need. More information is on the support GCN page.
