What: This group exists to intentionally create opportunities for members of GCN to equip and encourage one another to fully devote their lives to following Christ.
Why:
1. Because as a Christian ministry we have an inherent call to make disciples (Great Commission);
2. Because discipleship opportunities help retain as valuable active members those in the community who have reonciled their faith and their sexuality and are now looking for a different type of engagement with the community;
3. Because retaining members who are actively growing in their relationship with Christ is critical to the continued growth and spiritual health of the ministry
(iron sharpens iron, Jethro’s advice to Moses);
4. Because the church will not and should not take seriously the assertion that there is a way for those living in gay relationships to honor God in those relationships if they do not see authentic evidence of the Spirit at work in us (James-faith without works, John-they will know we are Christians…, Joshua-altar builders);
To join this group, make sure you are logged in and then click on "My GCN" in the top navigation bar. Then click on "My Control Panel" and "My Groups", check the box for the Growing to Maturity in Christ group (and any other groups you want to join), and click "Submit".
